More than 160 Shia Muslims booked for Chehlum azdari procession

Police of a Rawalpindi police station registered a case against the Shia Muslims for mourning procession of Chehlum anniversary of Imam Hussain (AS) from Col Maqbool Imam Bargah.

Bani Thana police booked 163 Shiites identifying 13 by names. Police said they prolonged the procession and violated amplifier act.

But Shiites denied the charges saying that biased officials were implicating them in false case to please takfiri fanatics.

Reports had it that police had detained some of them. Shia Muslims have protested against the FIR and arrest.
