Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen hosted a candlelight vigil and prayer congregation outside the mausoleum of founder of Pakistan Mohammad Ali Jinnah in Karachi last night where politicians belonging to Pakistan People’s Party, Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan and Pakistan Awami Tehreek also participated.

The candlelight vigil was held on an appeal from Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafari, secretary general of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen to express solidarity with the heirs of the martyrs of Pakistan and to pay homage to the martyrs including those embraced martyrdoms in Lahore suicide bombing, martyr Taimoor Khan, an assistant cameraman of Samaa TV and three army jawans who were martyred due to unprovoked firing by belligerent Indian forces on the Line of Control.
MQM’s MPA Faisal Qureshi, PPP’s Suhail Ansari and PAT’s Qaisar Iqbal joined the MWM’s Ali Hussain Naqvi, Allama Mubashir Hasasan, Mir Taqi Zafar and Maulana Ali Anwar at the candlelight vigil.
These politicians spoke on the occasion and lambasted the PMLN government for its failure to prevent terrorist attack in Lahore despite threat alert from National Counterterrorism Authority (NACTA).
They demanded of the PMLN government to eliminate banned terrorist outfits such as Daesh, Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, Sipah-e-Sahaba (ASWJ), Taliban, Jamaatul Ahrar, Jundulla under National Action Plan instead of victimizing political opponents.
