Eight Shia martyred in terrorists attack on two passenger buses

hangu_busEight Shia Muslims of Kurram Agency Parachinar were martyred and five critically wounded Friday when armed terrorists of Nasabi-Wahabi Taliban opened fire on two vehicles carrying Shia Muslims in Pakistan’s Kurram tribal region.

According to the Shiite News Correspondent,
The area has a history of sectarian clashes between American-Saudi brands of Wahabis with the peaceful Shia Muslims of the region.

Local administration official Fazal Hussain informed that the people belongs from Shia community of Kurram Agency in a three-vehicle caravan were heading from the northwestern city of Parachinar to Peshawar, the capital of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province.

Eyewitnesses said that the attackers came in two vehicles. They opened fire and fled, leaving eight people dead, including a woman and a child. They aded that the armed terrorists torched the vehicles and abducted more than 20 passengers from the place of incident.  After the incident, police have cordoned off the area. The injured have been shifted to hospital.

It may be noted here that this is the third such attack on passenger caravan of Shia Muslims of Kurram Agency in Hangu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during last two months after the truce brokered by the Haqqani Network of Taliban and some influential intelligence figures of Pakistan. About 20 people were martyred in the last two incidents of terrorism against the innocent passengers.

">  The vehicles were ambushed in the Bagan town of Kurram district, near the Afghan border, and the victims “were all Shia Muslims”, a security official said.
