images The forgotten Sipah-e-Mohammad Pakistan (SMP) leader Maulana Syed Ghulam Raza Naqvi was the Saalar-i-Aala (chief) of banned Shia outfit Sipah-e-Mohammad Pakistan (SMP). He was arrested by the Government of Punjab in 1996 on the several cases of sectarian killing of the leaders and activists of rival Nasabi-Wahabi sect.

A report compiled by the Shiite News said that when Maulana Syed Ghulam Raza Naqvi was arrested in 1996, the government had placed a reward of Rs 2 million for his alleged involvement
in about 30 cases of murder and dacoity. He is now in prison from the last 16 years.

It may be noted here that Sipah-e-Mohammad Pakistan (SMP) was founded in 1993 in reaction against the Shia genocide in Pakistan patronage by the remnant of former military dictator Ziaul Haq. But the leading Shia clerics, Zakareen, Intellectuals and Organizations were not in favor to form the organization like Sipah-e-Mohammad as they opined that Shia’s are the founder of Pakistan and an educated nation and this kind of organization will not the part of Shia’s idealogy.

He is known for turning Thokar Niaz Beg, a village in the suburbs of Lahore, a bastion of the banned Shia outfit Sipah-e-Mohammad Pakistan (SMP), the police on the time of the popularity of the Sipah-e-Mohammad Pakistan (SMP), had failed in at least four attempts to break this Shia stronghold. Thokar Niaz Beg also serves as the SMP headquarters.

The question is that when the Pakistan Government has released the Chief of the terrorists of outlawed notorious terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Jhangvi Malik Ishaq involved in the killing of more than 80 Shia Muslims and attack on Government installations so why the government has reluctant to trial the fake cases on Maulana Syed Ghulam Raza Naqvi and his other aides.

The government of Punjab has not allowed the family of Maulana Syed Ghulam Raza Naqvi and other detainees of Sipah-e-Mohammad Pakistan to meet their beloved ones from the last several years and on the other hand, they are suffering the solitary-confinement from the last 16 years.

It’s the dual standards of the government that Maulana Syed Ghulam Raza Naqvi, who released from all the fake cases were suffering the detention from last 16 years but the leading terrorist of the county Malik Ishaq Ishaq enjoyed Punjab government’s financial assistance ever since the Sharif’s came to power in 2008.

The terrorist Malik Ishaq kingpin belonging to banned Sunni outfit Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ), nominated in 44 cases in which 70 people were killed, allegedly received a monthly stipend, during imprisonment, from the Punjab government.
