Anti-terrorists Sunni police officer martyred in suicidal attack by TTP

chodri aslamSP CID Cgaudhry Aslam and three other officials were martyred in a bomb blast that occurred near Essa Nagri Graveyard, Hasan Square area Karachi on Thursday.

According to reports, three other policemen were injured in the blast after an explosive-laden car collided with SP CID's


Additional Inspector-General Iqbal Mehmood confirmed that he was killed in the blast.

The blast was heard from far distances. SP CID Raja Umer Khitab said it was a suicidal attack. He said Lashakr-e-Jhangvi and TTP terrorists pose serious threat to Pakistan.

The victims and the injured were shifted tto the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (J.P.M.C.) and Agha Khan Hospital.

The Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility of the attack. Chaudhry ASLAM killed many terrorists in the encounters and also arrested several of them.

PM Nawaz Sharif, PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto, former president Asif Zardari, MQM chief Altaf Hussain, PTI chief Imran Khan, Sharjeel Memon, Governor Sindh Ishratul Ebad and other national leaders condemned the blast and his killing.

The PM in his statement said that Aslam was a brave police officer and his sacrifice would not go in vain.

Governor Sindh said that he set a great example of bravery in police.

Strongly condemning the incident Bilawal Bhutto said in his twitter message that cruel Taliban snatched yet another brave man of Pakistan.

Sindh CM Qaim Ali Shah took notice of the blast and ordered the authorities to carry out a thorough investigation into the attack. SAMAA

Shia parties condemned the attack and demanded military operation to eliminate the terrorists.
