kalanKARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) will stage a rally in the port city of Karachi tomorrow to show its solidarity with the Pakistan Army, Rangers and other law enforcement personnel fighting against terrorism, DawnNews reported.

The rally would be held on Karachi's Shahrah-e-Quaideen at 3 pm in the afternoon.

A meeting of its central coordination (Rabita) committees in Karachi and London decided to hold the rally.

Speaking to members of the Rabita committee, MQM chief Altaf Hussain said the public and the army shared a united stance against terrorism.

He moreover appealed to the public to participate in the rally in order to prove that they were with the Pakistan Army and other law enforcement agencies against fighting militancy.

Meanwhile, party members, along with the MQM leadership, support the crackdowns against terrorists.

Speaking at a Haleem party in Karachi, MQM member Babar Ghouri said the political leadership of the country had mandated the federal government to restore peace in the country during the All Parties Conference (APC) meeting and not to hold peace talks with the Taliban.
