Pakistan continues sub rosa diplomacy with US administration

The Foreign Office said Pakistan’s behind-the-scenes diplomacy with the United States was continuing and the onus of repairing ties lay with Washington, whose unilateral actions had damaged the relationship.

PPP Senator Farhatullah Babar has asked if all army chiefs had obtained similar benefit on their retirement that were granted to the ex-COAS General Raheel Sharif (retired) such as land allotment. Gen Raheel is currently serving as the commander of the Saudi Arabia-led military coalition.

White House deputy press secretary, Raj Shah, expressed Trump administration's displeasure over the efforts so far made by Pakistan against terrorism. US President Donald Trump is not "satisfied with progress when it comes to Pakistan," he told reporters.

KP govt to approve Rs277m grant for pro-Taliban seminary

The provincial government of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) is set to approve a Rs27.7 million grant for Deobandi seminary Darul Uloom Haqqania of godfather of Taliban.

It is very much interesting and amazing that a Member of Parliament has put a question to seek details of terrorism cases that were publicly claimed by notorious banned militant organizations but instead of answering the question, federal interior minister dragged two mainstream Shia parties in the list of terror cases in a bid to equate them with banned outfits.
