Palestinian women have rallied in the Gaza Strip to commemorate the International Day of Human Rights and condemn the Israeli blockade of the enclave.

The protesters took to the streets of Gaza City, urging the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325, which emphasizes women’s rights during conflict and post-conflict times.

Meanwhile, the protesters slammed the Israeli blockade of the Gaza Strip, saying Palestinians there are in poor economic conditions and can barely feed their families.

This comes as Palestinian children, who have been suffering from the recent Israeli war atrocities, have lately demonstrated in Gaza City against the living conditions they have been through.

Many Gazan children and women took to the streets on Universal Children's Day on November 20, to protest against the delay in the reconstruction of the blockaded enclave, which was heavily damaged during Tel Aviv’s latest military aggression.

“The rights of our children have been violated; they live on the street blockaded with lack of security and under the repression, they ought to be heard on Universal Children's Day,” a Gazan woman told Press TV.

The coastal sliver has been under the Israeli blockade since June 2007. The crippling siege has caused a decline in the standard of living as well as unprecedented levels of unemployment and poverty.
