Raids were also carried out in the southwestern Lahij and Aden provinces and the northwestern Sa’ada province.

Yemeni forces backed by popular committees’ fighters carried out retaliatory attacks on several Saudi military bases in Saudi Arabia’s southwestern region of Jizan.

The latest Saudi attacks came just days after a humanitarian truce was announced in Yemen on Friday.

The monarchy started military attacka against Yemen on March 26 – without a UN mandate – in a attempt to undermine the Houthi movement and to restore power to the country’s fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, a staunch ally of Riyadh.

According to the UN, over 3,000 people, including 1,500 civilians, have been killed over the past three months in the impoverished country.
