Two more Saudi soldiers have been killed during clashes with Yemen’s Ansarullah fighters and their allied army units as Riyadh continues its military campaign against the impoverished country.

The Saudi troops were killed late on Tuesday in clashes that erupted along the Yemeni-Saudi border, the Saudi-owned news channel al-Arabiya reported.

The Royal Saudi Armed Forces confirmed in a statement the death of the Saudi soldiers but did not specify when they were killed or the circumstances surrounding their deaths.

According to the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA), another Saudi soldier was also killed on Monday and two others died of injuries on Tuesday during clashes that broke out in the Saudi border region of Jizan.

Also on Tuesday, Saudi military aircraft bombarded the residential areas of Razih district in the northwestern Sa'ada province, killing at least six people.

A doctor was also killed and another civilian sustained injuries in an earlier attack targeting a clinic in the same province.

On March 26, Saudi Arabia began its military aggression against Yemen – without a UN mandate – in a bid to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement and restore power to the fugitive former president, Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, a staunch ally of Riyadh.

Over 4,300 people have been killed in the Saudi aggression, the World Health Organization said on August 11. Local Yemeni sources, however, say the fatality figure is much higher.
