On Monday, Yemeni troops targeted the Saudi military base of Habas in Jizan, killing eleven soldiers and destroying several of their vehicles, Saba news agency reported.

In a separate development, 15 Saudi-backed mercenaries were killed in Yemen’s central province of Marib after the Arab country’s military forces launched a spate attacks against them in the areas of al Raba’eh, al-Zaughn, al-Mashgah, al-Fara’a, Kawfal and al-Makhdarah.

Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to the fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

According to the United Nations humanitarian coordinator for Yemen, Jamie McGoldrick, the Saudi military campaign has claimed the lives of 10,000 Yemenis and left 40,000 others wounded.

Yemen’s Legal Center of Rights and Development, meanwhile, announced recently that 12,000 Yemenis have been killed in the Saudi aggression.
