Bahrain's Second High Criminal Court, presided over by judge Abdullah Al-Ashraf with the membership of judges Mohsen Mabrouk and Osama Al-Shathili and Abdullah Mohammad, adjudicated that the human rights defender Zainab Al-Khawaja has lost her right to appeal, since she did not attend the trial hearings. This means that the court upheld a one year and four-month prison term sentence against Al-Khawaja over insulting a public officer and destroying property.

The First Minor Criminal Court, presided over by Rashid bin Ahmad Al Khalifa and Mohammed Maki as secretariat, upheld imprisoning Zainab Al-Khawaja over two cases, presenting the verdict issued against her which is a two month sentence for each of these cases. These cases are related to charges of causing damage to Interior Ministry property. Regarding the third case, based on charges of insulting a government employee, the court sentenced Al-Khawaja to one year in prison.
