Speaking during his advanced jurisprudence class at Qom's Grand Mosque, Grand Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi referred to the issues brought about by the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action in Iran and said that he is worried that the JCPOA will create differences among the various political groups in the country.

His Eminence said the text of the JCPOA contains many strong points, but also many weaknesses as well, reported Rasa.

“Of course, it is possible to eliminate the weaknesses of this agreement with proper solutions and everyone should be looking to find such solutions,” he said.

The revered source of emulation said that the signing of the JCPOA was a significant act and it is considered as a victory for the Islamic Republic of Iran. However, we cannot view this agreement as something shameful or a great loss to this country and also no one should say that it was the greatest honour in the history of Iran.

“The enemy seeks to sow discord among the people in order to dominate our country,” he stressed.

Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi explained that all officials should be friendly, logical and reasonable during debates and discussions over this agreement.

The problems Iran faces cannot be solved through struggle, conflict, insults and entering into incorrect proportions over the JCPOA.

“Only through dialogue can we reach a result over the dilemmas in the text of the agreement,” he said.

He called on Iranian authorities to make better use of the opportunities before them and to act rationally and explained that the enemies are continuously threatening the Islamic Republic and making undiplomatic, irrelevant and unbalanced statements over the implications of the JCPOA.

“Research and discussion over the strengths and weaknesses of the agreement should not provoke conflict among the Iranian people,” he said.

Refugee crisis one of the most important problems of the Islamic world

In another part of his lecture, the teacher in the Islamic Seminary of Qom referred to the displaced people and refugees fleeing the Western-created wars throughout the Middle East, saying it is one of the most important problems of the Islamic world.

“The instigators of these wars do not take into account what the refugees in Yemen, Syria and other countries are supposed to do,” the Iranian cleric said.

Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi explained that while the Western powers have come from the other side of the world and have supported terrorists and destroyed the region, it is regrettable that they are trying to blame Iran and Russia for this tragedy, while the Islamic Republic of Iran only seeks to resolve the crisis in Syria through the holding of fair elections with the participation of the country’s people and to establish peace and security in this Islamic country.
