Ten million worshippers step in Karbala for Arbaeen (Chehlum) commemoration

shhite_karbala-204x300 More than Ten Million Hussaini pilgrims have been entered in the holy city of Karbala to commemorate Arbaeen (Chehlum) Imam Hussain (AS), (the fortieth day after the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (AS), the grand son of holy Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), and his companions in karbala).
According to the Shiite News Special Correspondent in Karbala, Arbaeen (Chehlum) Imam Hussain (AS) falls this year in Iraq on February 5. However, it will be expected that more than 15 Million pilgrims attend the Arbaeen commemoration in Karbala and the numbers of Hussaini pilgrims may increase on the day of Arbaeen. Iraqi Government has deployed more than 30000 military and Police personnel to control any untoward situation in Karbala. "Security measures are tight and they made us feel safe while walking, especially at night, near the empty desert roads," a pilgrim said. Pilgrims clad in black and carrying red, black and green flags are going to the shrine of Imam Hussain (AS), the Prophet Mohammed's (PBUH) grandson.Tourist agencies in Iraq expect the arrival of 700,000 pilgrims from outside Iraq to take part in the rituals, besides millions coming from the different provinces of the country. Pilgrims from Saudi Arabia, Iran, Lebanon, Bahrain, Kuwait, India, United States, African Countries and Pakistan are expected to reach the holy City karbala to attend the Arbaeen commemoration. . Meanwhile, Despite the terrorists attempts of Suicide bombing on the Hussaini (AS) mourners, hundreds of thousands of Imam Hussain (AS) mourners are marching towards the holy city of Karbala to observe the Arbaeen rituals.
