Two senior leaders of the ISIL Takfiri group have been killed in the eastern and northeastern parts of Syria, a monitoring group says.

The so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said on Monday that one of the Takfiri leaders identified as Amer al-Rafdan was killed in an airstrike in the eastern Syrian province of Deir Ezzor.

Another Takfiri leader identified as Abu Osama al-Iraqi was killed in the northeastern Syrian province of Hasakah.

It is not known whether the terrorists were killed in the airstrikes by Syrian war planes or jets belonging to the so-called US-lead international coalition allegedly fighting the terrorists in Syria without the authorization of Damascus.

The development comes as the Syrian forces are conducting operations against the Takfiri terrorists across the country.

Acceding to Syria’s state SANA news agency, Syrian government forces killed at least 63 Takfiri terrorists and injured many others during clashes in Jisr al-Shughour city in the northwestern Idlib province on Sunday.

Syrian air force pilots further conducted aerial operations against ISIL positions in Deir Ezzor, destroying three ammunition depots and inflicting heavy casualties on the Takfiri forces.

Syria has been battling foreign-sponsored militants since March 2011. The violence fueled by Takfiri terrorist groups has so far left over 230,000 people dead.
