Syrian demo slams foreign intervention

siryandemoThousands of Syrians have held a demonstration to show support for the government of President Bashar al-Assad in the southwestern city of Sweida.
The protesters on Sunday chanted slogans against foreign intervention in their country and denounced external plots to destabilize Syria, the Syrian Arab news agency (SANA) reported.

The protesters were carrying placards in support of China and Russia for their recent efforts at the United Nations Security Council in blocking a US-led resolution that would impose sanctions on Syria.
Syria has been experiencing unrest since mid-March. Hundreds of security forces as well as civilians have been killed in the tensions that has involved foreign-supplied armed gangs.
Damascus says that the unrest is being orchestrated from outside the country and that the security forces have been given clear instructions not to harm civilians.
