Dozens of activists of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen and Imamia Students Organisation staged protest in Peshawar against the targeted murder of an eminent Shia religious scholar Allama Nawaz Irfani n Islamabad a day earlier.

Led by MWM’s provincial official Irshad Hussain Bangash and ISO Peshawar division president Tauheed Alvi, the protesters gathered outside the Peshawar Press Club.

They chanted slogans against federal and provincial governments for not providing security to the religious scholars and Shia leaders that paved way for the terrorists to ambush them.

“The assassination of Allama Nawaz Irfani was a total failure on the part of law-enforcing agencies in the federal capital. Allama had already received threats to his life,” Irshad Hussain Bangash said.

Protestors condemned the killing of Allama Shaikh Nawaz Irfani and vowed to continue the mission of the great martyr scholar who had raised his voice against the takfiri terrorist organisations such as ASWJ/LeJ, TTP, etc. The protesters demanded the government to arrest the killers of all Shia martyrs at the earliest and provide them protection in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Pakistan.
