Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain on Tuesday appealed the government to ban Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), claiming that more than 50 per cent of Taliban and al-Qaeda men were arrested from the residences of JI leaders.

According to a statement issued here, Altaf Hussain asked the JI leader, Sirajul Haq not to make nation fool in the name of Islam, adding that Qur’an and Hadiths give right of self-defense first.
“Religious parties had opposed the formation of Pakistan and spoke ill of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah”, Altaf claimed.
He accused the JI leaders of calling Pakistan as ‘Kafirsitan’ (land of infidels) and naming Jinnah as ‘Kafir-e-Azam’ (great infidel).
Altaf also demanded of the government to arrest those leaders who speak against Army soldiers.
