Pakistani media widely cover Iran Islamic Revolution rallies

Print and electronic media of Pakistan have given wide coverage to massive rallies in Iran held on Monday to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the glorious victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.


Leading daily ‘Express Tribune’ reported that thousands of Iranians have gathered in central Tehran to mark 40 years since the Islamic Revolution, a political earthquake that ended millennia of monarchy.
It said traffic was diverted from roads leading up to Azadi (freedom) Square ahead of a march to remember the day in 1979 when Late Founder of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khomeini ousted the Second Pahlavi regime.
‘Radio Pakistan’ in its story said 40th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution of Iran has been celebrated.
Millions of people across Iran have gathered on the streets to mark the anniversary of 1979 revolution, which replaced Second Pahlavi regime with an Islamic Republic under Ayatollah Khomeini.
‘The News’ reported massive crowds mark 40th anniversary of Iran’s Islamic Revolution. It said Iran´s President Hassan Rouhani has insisted 'enemy' plots against the country would fail as vast crowds marked 40 years since the Islamic Revolution at a time of heightened tensions with the United States.
'The presence of people today on the streets all over Islamic Iran... means that the enemy will never reach its evil objectives,' Rouhani was quoted s saying.
‘Pakistan Today’ said Iranians rally to support Islamic Revolution on 40th anniversary. It said Millions of Iranians from all backgrounds have taken to the streets around the country to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.
‘Daily Times’ in its report said as Islamic Revolution turns 40 hundreds of thousands of Iranians marched to mark the 40th anniversary of the triumph of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.
“Soldiers, students, clerics and women holding small children thronged streets across Iran, many carrying portraits of Imam Khomeini and Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah [Seyyed] Ali Khamenei,” it said.
Daily ‘Business Recorder’ said massive crowds mark 40th anniversary of Iran Islamic Revolution.
“Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani while addressing the rally in Tehran said: The presence of people today on the streets all over Islamic Iran… means that the enemy will never reach its evil objectives,' the daily wrote.
It further wrote that the routes leading up to the square were packed with people as loudspeakers blared revolutionary anthems and slogans.
Meantime, ‘Dunya Tv’, another Pakistani media, reported Iran’s Hassan Rouhani has insisted 'enemy' plots against the country would fail as vast crowds marked 40 years since the Islamic Revolution.
Speaking from a flower-festooned stage overlooking the square, the Iranian president warned that Iran was now far stronger than when it faced off against Saddam's Iraq in a devastating 1980-1988 war.
'Today the whole world should know that the Islamic Republic of Iran is considerably more powerful than the days of the war,' Rouhani was quoted as saying.
‘ARY News’ channel reported hundreds of thousands of Iranians marched to mark the Islamic Revolution’s 40th anniversary.
